A Walk With St. Lawrence

Trad: 7
Walked: 3.2 miles

I headed over to St. Lawrence Bay today to look for a series of hides along the sea wall. The afternoon started off sunny, although the wind was rather keen in places!

Being close to the Winter Solstice, the light didn’t last very long. The golden grasses were soon illuminated by orange light from the fading sun.

The sunset happened at about the time I had just turned from the furthest point from the car, heading back. The clouds were rather good too.

Having had a DNF on a tricky D4 hide on the way out (think tupperware box under a pile of rocks), I finally bagged the tricky blighter by torchlight on the return leg. Hurrah!

Another enjoyable Winter walk.

Day #178 – Licence To Take It Easy

Trad: 1
Walked: 1.0  miles

In the last five days, despite it being January, I’ve cached in Kent (twice), Berkshire, Oxfordshire (twice), Bucks, Milton Keynes and Herts; found 131 caches and walked a little over 46 miles. So today I thought I had earned a rest and would find something much closer to home to maintain my geostreak!

The new hide in Galleywood, Licence To Ride by The Avenue Two fitted the bill nicely. It was a quick find and I was able to tick off a cache for the geostreak then get home to get on with the things I should have been doing over the past five days!
