I’ve been looking at the Earthcache near Westminster Bridge on the London map for months. It’s just around the corner from where I’m working and today the tides were just right – low tide just before I started in the morning and high tide just after I had finished. So I finally pulled my finger out and visited the spot to make my measurements.
Job done, I then headed off to pick up the trad in Ham Yard, another one ticked off the list.

I had another word day in London today but found three trads and an earthcache around Westminster after I left the office.
Stonicles is an odd Earthcache, around the back of Victoria Station, where you can see a curious collection of stalactites which seem to be far too long for their age…
Walk Into A Painting is at a nice colourful bit of sculpture, thankfully not very muggly this evening!

I had a late start at Millbank today, so I was able to find three caches before work. They were all quickly located, which is unusual for me as I do find urban caching problematic at times. I started off with a trad, Jeremy Bentham, which was just a stone’s throw from St. James’s Park tube, as was the next hide, the SideTracked EarthCache for the station.
Another very quick find nearby was a second multi based around finding info from a mosaic mural in a side street. The final hide was a nano which I managed to put my hand on almost immediately!
Then it was time for work… But I did manage to pop out again at lunchtime for a wander around the wet streets of London, to finally pick up Church Micro 4000 – Westminster Abbey. So all in all a good haul for today.

I was in London for an afternoon meeting so took the opportunity for a few finds while I was there. My first stop was to visit the V&A Museum to gather the info for an old virtual, David’s Autumn Wardrobe. It was a quick find and I managed another swift nano in Victoria Square on my way to Millbank.
For some time I’ve been eyeing up a tricky D4/T1 hide in Wickford which would qualify me for a challenge cache (where you need a certain number of finds in particular squares of your DT grid). I have DNF’d it once recently and thought about a re-match soon. But today I noticed that the Pagans earthcache in London, which is very close to where I was working, is also a D4/T1. So after my meeting had finished, it was dark and raining but that’s fine for an earthcache, right?
Thankfully I found the info I needed and have had the confirmation email from the CO, so that’s another Challenge cache qualification met, and it can now go on the “go and find it” pile.
