I’ve had the co-ords for Quite Near Kitty sitting on my solved pile since Feb 2014, and I meant to have a look for it during my Catwalk Capers a couple of weeks ago, but we didn’t have time. So today was the day.
I’ve been coming down with a nasty cough and cold so a short drive and a little walk was just what the doctor ordered. I had DNF’d the hide back in 2014 but went more or less straight to it today. The railway bridge nearby provided a shot of a curious plaque.
I had a bit of an epic walk today – as you can see! I contacted Kitty!! to ask if she thought the bridleways on her Catwalk 50 Series were still passable – and she offered to do the walk with me to do some maintenance checks. I was glad of the company.
She also made me a deal – if I spotted the caches which she had placed up trees, she would do the climbs (felines are so much better at shinning up trees than Cazes are).
There was a good selection of custom pots as well as the more usual hides. One of my favourites was this slithery critter hiding in a tree branch. It made me jump. Kitty just stood there cackling!
55 caches today makes that my best day since May 2013 when I completed the epic NoCMoC Series around Hanningfield Reservoir with 58 finds. Catwalk #26 was my 3500th find – half way to the next big milestone of 4K! And by the end of the day, I had found 504 caches during my current streak. But it’s not about the numbers, right?
