After my DNF a few days ago during my Doddinghurst Dawdle, the CO had been to check on the cache and confirmed it was still in situ, so I thought I should return for another look.
Gate To The Thicket
I passed this mysterious (and pointless!) gate onto a thicket along the footpath on the way. Once at GZ I had a better look at somewhere I initially dismissed last time, and hey, presto! The little camo’d bison was lurking under some leaves.
It was another one of those grim weather days today but as I was going to visit a friend in Ingatestone this afternoon, I forced myself out of the house a little bit earlier than I needed to to have a look for a duo of traditional hides in Doddinghurst/Hook End.
Autumn Comes To Wyatt’s Green
At least there was plenty of Autumn colour on show with these lovely Maple trees.
Thankfully it was a quick find at the first hide but despite a thorough search I drew a blank on the second. Here was a sign on the way to No. 2 – at least it doesn’t say “no geocaching”!
