They have a very small world view in Kelvedon and Feering! This was the GZ of the first cache I found today on my way to Colchester.
I can report that plenty lies beyond! For starters, I returned to The Bingo Challenge Cache in Copford, which I had previously DNF’d when it was missing. It’s recently been replaced so I thought I would give it another shot. Of course, for clambering up bridge slopes, I went dressed the part:
I’ve driven past Foxscout’sSarcen Stones Earthcache in Greenstead hundreds of times. But today was the day I finally got around to stopping to gather the information.
After finding another couple of trads around the Hythe on a chilly late afternoon walk, I arrived at Mum & Dad’s to thaw out!
We all have those caches where we DNF them and then don’t return for weeks, months or even years to see if we can turn that blue frown in to a yellow smiley.
Well today I resolved to do just that for one cache which I last attempted in March 2012! A12-J21 Grandstand View by helennbrian was my target. It’s not that far away, but it’s always on the way to somewhere more interesting, so I hardly ever have an incentive to stop. It’s been bubbling up to the top of the To Do List for a few weeks now, as I’m beginning to run short of closer caches I can do as drive bys or single cache and dashes to keep my daily streak going.
I knew it was under a road bridge over the A12, so whilst it wasn’t absolutely necessary, I went prepared – dressed in High Vis jacket and Hard Hat! Even if I was spotted, nobody would pay the slightest bit of attention to me if I looked like I should be there…
Sure enough, it was an easy find this time around, and actually quite fun. Now why had I been putting off a return visit for so long?
