Trad: 5
Walked: 6.1 miles

I got a few good trads in the bag today, starting off with a cache and dash in Fyfield. Then I drove to Moreton where I found an easy hide in Peddlars End before hiking along the river to Bridging The Gap. I found a pointless stile on the footpath which Alistair would have liked:

Once I arrived at GZ I realised the enormity of the issue – the cache was hidden in the tree somewhere… I’m not normally one to climb or scramble much, (I usually send Alistair up trees!) but this old specimen looked fairly sturdy, so I decided to go for it. I inched along the trunk across the water, and was rewarded with a little pot, well hidden! I was only the second person to find as well.

Originally I was going to move the car to Magdalen Laver to walk for the brace of hides near the church. But looking at the map, I realised they were only a mile or so away, and decided to take a longer walk from Moreton instead.

There was nice scenery on the way – big trees in fields and a lovely green lane. Plus, the two caches were easy finds.
