Today I left my hotel in Oswestry and headed for Chorley. But of course I didn’t take the most direct route. Oh, no. I was zigging and zagging about to collect some specific Challenges, virtuals, webcams and caches in new counties.

This Letterbox was in Flintshire and helped me qualify for a Challenge cache.

I was defeated by curious bullocks at one high DT challenge cache near Connah’s Quay, but managed to find another while they watched across the fence.

This was a windy T3 Virtual on the Wirral. I nearly had my hat blow off. But the information was collected and the view was great. At least the sun was out!

I attempted two Webcam caches on the Wirral while I was passing. The first was accomplished without issue. Even Shifty got in on the act.

Saldy the D5 Lighthouse webcam was frozen and hadn’t updated for days. My selfie with Shifty wasn’t good enough, and my log was deleted. I’ll have to come back again sometime.

One of the final caches of the day was Albert’s Famine in Liverpool Dockside. I don’t think I’ve ever known it so windy at sea level – I was literally blown along the docks as I was looking for the clues! Thankfully I made it from one end to the other without getting blown into the Mersey!

Anyway, my UK Counties Map has had a few more gaps filled and now looks like this:
