Day #350 – Cambridge Capers

Trad: 10
Walked: 5.4 miles

Alistair and I headed for Cambridge today, having stayed with friends overnight in Histon. We went to Puntcon on hired punts and met up with lots of geek friends for a picnic at Grantchester Meadows.

Alistair returned to Cambridge centre on the punt, hoping to catch the last bus back to the Park & Ride at 6pm, while I walked from Grantchester to Trumpington, finding caches along the way. It was partly because I needed to find at least 8 caches to finally complete a challenge cache qualification, and partly as insurance so I could pick Alistair up if he missed the bus – rather than both of us missing it and having to walk a very long way back to Trumpington. As it was, we arrived about at the same time!

This perky pigeon was one of the Grantchester Grind series. I didn’t do them all but picked up the ones which happened to be along my route.

This curious sight was seen in Grantchester – take your nags to the pub day?

Of course, I picked up another CM or two along the route.
