I had earmarked today’s journey from Hemel Hempstead to my overnight stop near Bristol to find some specific Virtuals and a collection of Challenge caches around Webb’s Wood.
My first stop was the virtual, Agricultural Cathedral (Oxfordshire), an amazing old barn with much rich history.

It was also pretty impressive on the inside!

Another was REALLY SideTracked – Steam Power (Swindon), looking at a steam engine in the old Swindon railway works – right up my street!

The main set of caches I was after were set by the Lynford Locators, a variety of hides around Webb’s Wood. It started to rain as I was about half way around. But I carried on, and eventually found them all – but I got VERY wet in the process. Urgh!

Dambusterz #1 wasn’t part of the challenge series but it was certainly a bit of a challenge getting to it! I think I went a bit off piste and ended up thwacking through brambles before vaulting across a muddy-banked stream in order to arrive at GZ.

I also picked up the Church Micro at this curious little corrugated iron clad building along the way.

Eventually I arrived at my hotel north of Bristol, rather damp but pleased at having found a decent number of caches from my shopping list.
