Walked: 1.4 miles
Last night, I was idly flicking through my profile stats on Project-GC when I noticed that I had so far been caching on 999 days out of 2802 since I began back in September 2008. So that meant today would be day 1000!
Rather than going for a random cache and dash, I wanted the find to be a bit more memorable, so chose to go and pick up the penultimate of Mr Mercator’s Projections, 12b, which I haven’t already found.
It was a pleasant stroll to a GZ near Danbury, which my geo-buddy Tot66 had visited a few days ago (we’ve been working on the 12’s together via email). I found a lot of cash in the cache! But decided to leave it for the next finder 😉
So here we are, Project-GC now shows I’ve been caching on 1000 days!
The other thing I’ve been doing today is dipping my lovely new Life Begins geocoin into some of my favourite caching adventures. It’s a great mantra for life, and I wanted it to remind me of all the fun I’ve had over the last 7.5 years.
I’ve been spurring myself on to do more daring caches of late, to complete my DT Grid, and it’s been great fun to have a go at something a little more challenging than a film pot thrown in a bush.
