A series of 15 caches was laid to coincide with the Essex Mega CITO event at Langdon Plotlands back on Day #7, but I only had time to search for one of them then. So I thought I should go and have another look for the rest today.

There was plenty of evidence of the homes which used to sit on the plots:

I had a rather a lot of DNF’s on the series – the GPS was bouncing around due to the tree cover and none of the caches had any hints, which wasn’t very helpful, given the multitude of trees. Oh well.

In the middle, I took a brief detour to find two unrelated caches – one of which was hidden in this cool bird box inside a lovely tree.

One of the series was a decent sized box and thankfully an easy find!

All in all, not a bad day out, but it may well have been more successful if there were hints for the hides. They are mainly billed as D1.5 caches, but clearly if the tree cover is bad and the co-ords are 30ft or more off, there’s little chance of a find unless you strike it very lucky.
